Elderly woman robbed while watching Red Sox game.

On June 10, 2013 Manchester Police responded to a residence on Island Pond Road for report of a burglary. On arrival officers spoke with an 89 year old woman who stated that at approx. 9:00 p.m she was in bed watching a Red Sox game when a thin man, about 5-10 wearing dark colored clothing entered her bedroom.

The woman explained that the man attempted to hide his face by pulling the sweatshirt or jacket over himself as he removed her jewelry box from the dresser. Although the man never spoke directly to the elderly woman, she believed he was speaking to another person who may have also been inside the house.

The burglar fled the area with the box, which contained costume jewelry.

A police K-9 attempted to track the subject, but was unable to determine a direction of travel. It appears the subject(s) may have entered the home by pushing the air-conditioner through the window.
